Re-Posting a Qustion to add a Bounty

Saturday, July 12, 2014

I see this SO post. I'm having the EXACT same needs and problems. It looks like the author can't post a bounty because they're new to the site. I can't post a bounty on it either. I would like to open this thread to post a bounty for that problem.

Do i need to support Facebook Login in my Android app to share users' posts on Facebook?

Saturday, July 12, 2014

I am creating an Android app that uses the users' Google Account Credentials for authentication of their email addresses. However, I want to share users' transactions in my app as posts on Facebook. I went through this documentation that Facebook provides for sharing from Android.

From the documentation, it is not clear if it is mandatory to support Facebook Login as an authentication method in my Android app or not. These are the conflicting quotes from the documentation that are creating this confusion for me:

Quote # 1:

Items can also be shared in two different ways:

  • Using the Share Dialog, a built-in dialog that has the Facebook look-and-feel, is very easy to implement, and doesn't require the user to be logged into your app using Facebook in order to share.

  • Making API calls, which allows you more control of the sharing user experience but requires that the user is logged into your app using Facebook Login in order to be able to share, and as a result needs more implementation effort.

Quote # 2:

Before you can share to Facebook from your app, or attempt to follow any of the sharing tutorials, you will need:

  • Your environment set up

  • A Facebook app properly configured and linked to your Android app, with Facebook Login enabled

  • The Facebook SDK added to your project

So can someone experienced with this please clarify whether implementing a Share Dialog also requires to implement Facebook Login in an Android app or not?

Prolog DCG for parsing escaped sequences

Saturday, July 12, 2014

I need to parse the string ^borrow$ ^\$500$ into the list [borrow, $500]. The grammar I wrote so far is

:- use_module(library(dcg/basics)).

write_list([]).
write_list([H|T]) :- atom_codes(S, H), write(S), nl, write_list(T).

% Grammar.
tags([Tag|Rest]) --> string(_), tag(Tag), tags(Rest).
tags([]) --> string(_).
tag(Tag) --> "^", tag_contents(Tag), "$".
tag_contents(Tag) --> string(Tag).

Which works when I don't have \$ inside a token:

?- phrase(tags(T), "^pisica$ ^catel$"), write_list(T).
pisica
catel
?- phrase(tags(T), "^borrow$ ^\\$500$"), write_list(T).
borrow
\

What is the best practice for parsing this kind of escaped sequences with Prolog DCGs?

Cordova File plugin breaks my app

Saturday, July 12, 2014

I just installed the cordova file plugin and it completely breaks my application with this error:

ERROR: Method 'requestAllPaths:' not defined in Plugin 'File'

After googling for several variations of this topic I wasn't able to find anything that addresses this issue. Any ideas?

I am using Cordova 3.5.0 with the file plugin added like this:

cordova plugin add org.apache.cordova.file

I tried adding the optional configuration described in the readme on github but that didn't change anything.

Use from empty type parameters?

Saturday, July 12, 2014

I was recently porting a Java 7 project down to Java 6 and I a had some Arraylists being initialized with empty type parameters.

Of course it gave quite a few errors because of it only being allowed in Java 7

So then I was wondering; What use do I get from using empty type parameters?

ex.: new Arraylist <>();
